Maryam Jafri is an artist, whose work often focuses on the role of narrativity in the construction of identities – historical, national, personal, and familial. She holds a BA in English and American Literature from Brown University, Providence, USA, and is a graduate of the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program, New York, in Studio Art (2000). Her videos and installations have been shown in Denmark and abroad. Recent exhibitions include a solo show at Plattform in Berlin, Germany (with Laurie Simmons), a solo show at Galleri Signal in Malmoe, Sweden (with Alex Villar), and an upcoming solo show at Malmö Konstmuseum, Sweden.
