aladin is founder of alkhemi, the strategic practice working across public, private, and third sectors in strategic management, social practice, and culture. From 2000-04, aladin developed the strategy for culture, media, sport, arts, heritage, and tourism in London as Vice Chair of Mayor Ken Livingstone's Cultural Strategy Group. aladin is also Chair of the integrated cultural organization and charity Entelechy Arts, has held numerous other board level positions, and is a visiting academic/professor at a number of universities. aladin began his academic life at the London School of Economics, specializing in international relations, the global economy as well as nuclear war strategy, and edited LSE's international studies journal. aladin went on to undertake management consultancy in relation to countries, international banks, international statutory organizations, and parties impacted by international monetary or political instability; later, he specialized in advising multinational companies on strategic planning. aladin left the city to work in social development: youth and community development work with vulnerable/socially excluded groups whom society find challenging. Experienced in working around violence, he has carried out work with street gangs in inner cities around the world and worked as a Director/Chief Executive with local, regional, national, and EEC wide projects using culture in community development contexts. aladin is currently a producer, director, and artist working across sectors: he has curated art exhibitions, programmed live arts festivals, directed and edited multi-camera shoots mixing film and video, contributed to television documentaries. In London, contexts have included the Institute for Contemporary Arts, the Whitechapel Art Gallery, the British Festival of Visual Theatre, the London International Festival of Theatre (lift), the Jerwood Arts Space - and a pop video for DJs Freddie Fresh & Fatboy Slim. His work has also been chosen for the National Review of Live Arts. Finally, aladin is an entirely self-taught magician, one of only two Golden Turban Members of the Magic Academy of Bangalore, India, and a former International Magician of the Year.
